Join us as a Vascular Surgeon at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center located in Clarksburg, WV.
Who we are: Monterey is a Veterans Affairs (VA) Verified Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB). We graduated from the SBA 8(a) Program and have a variety of contracts available for use.
What we do: Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.

Specific Skills
- Experience. Must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in skills necessary to fulfill job requirements.
Responsible For
- Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. Contractor shall be responsible for Vascular Surgery care, including clinic coverage, surgical coverage, on-call 24/7 (including weekdays, weekends, holidays), remote and onsite consultations, and any rounding related to patient care.
- Responsible for patient care documentation including pre-operative notes, operative reports, post-operative reports, and outpatient clinic notes.
- Provide all Vascular Surgical Services by attending supervision as determined by VA guidelines.
- Follow all established medication policies and procedures.
- Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Neurosurgery clinical or surgical patients.
Period of Performance: Initial period March 1st 2025-Feb 28th 2026 with 4 additional 1-year renewal options.
Additional Requirements
Schedule: Schedule for services may vary. Typical full-time schedule M-F, 7:30A-4P. Call required weeknights, weekends, and holidays (during non-business hours). Must be available for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians. 15 minute phone call response required, on-site within 60 minutes.

- MTs must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j.
- Subject to background/security investigation.
- Must pass TB test.
- Complete and online onboarding process.
- Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Job Nature
Educational Requirements
- Education. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- License and Certification. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery. Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any US State, Territory, and Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Active BLS and ACLS required
- DEA required.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME)/Certified Education Unit (CEU). Contractor shall provide the COR copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the VAMC. Contract physician(s) registered or certified by national/medical associations shall continue to meet the minimum standards for CME to remain current. Contractor shall report CME hours to the credentials office for tracking. These documents are required for both privileging and re-privileging. Failure to provide shall result in loss of privileges for contract physician(s).
